How we calculated this
Results are illustrative estimates based on published industry benchmarks and are not a guarantee of actual revenue impact. Individual results will vary depending on your market, competition, and follow-up process.
Every figure in this calculator is derived from published research. The numbers below explain the benchmarks we use and where they come from.
Invoca's 2025 Home Services Call Conversion Benchmarks Report, based on over 70 million calls across 10 industries, found that 38% of answered calls become a lead, and 45% of those leads convert on the call — a combined ~17% chance a properly-handled call becomes a booked job. We use this as a conservative estimate of what a missed call could have been worth. Invoca notes its figures are averages across its own customer base rather than the whole industry, so treat this as a directional benchmark. View source ↗
The 21% / 13% / 8% / 5% / 2.3% close rates used for the website/form-enquiry side of this calculator come from Artemis GTM's 2026 Speed to Lead Benchmark study, which tracks close rates across the same five response-time bands used here. Artemis GTM describes these figures as illustrative and directional, not a guarantee — your actual close rate will depend on your market, offer and follow-up process. View source ↗
The MIT/InsideSales study analysed 15,000 leads across six companies and found that responding within 5 minutes vs. 30 minutes makes you 21× more likely to qualify a lead. These ratios underpin the response-time framing used throughout this calculator. View source ↗
The HBR study of 2,241 US companies found that firms responding to web-generated leads within an hour were nearly 7× more likely to have meaningful conversations than those waiting longer than an hour — and more than 60× more likely than those waiting 24+ hours. This is why the "Over 24 hours" bracket in this calculator carries the steepest drop-off. View source ↗
